Heating, Cooling and Everything That Keeps Them Running

Our repair work covers AC repair, furnace repair and emergency HVAC repair, from a failed capacitor or cracked igniter to a compressor that will not start. For new equipment we handle AC installation, furnace installation, heat pumps and ductless mini-splits, sized to your home rather than to whatever is on the truck. Maintenance plans keep burners, coils and blower motors clean and checked each season. We also take on commercial HVAC for small buildings and new construction HVAC for builders and owners putting up a new home.

How We Work on Your Home

Most people calling an HVAC company want to know what broke, what it costs and whether it is worth fixing. We answer those first.

  1. 01

The cause, not just the symptom

A furnace that short-cycles might have a dirty flame sensor, a clogged filter tripping the high-limit switch or an oversized burner. We test until we know which one, then tell you what we found and why it failed.

  2. 02

A written quote before any work begins

You see the parts, the labor and the total on paper before we pick up a tool. If you decide not to go ahead, nothing changes on your bill.

  3. 03

Your diagnostic fee works for you

We credit the diagnostic fee toward the repair, so finding the problem does not cost you twice. Estimates are free on installations and replacements.

  4. 04

    An honest repair-or-replace answer

If a ten-dollar part fixes it, we say so. When a heat exchanger is cracked or a compressor is gone on an older unit, we lay out the cost of repair next to the cost of replacement and let you decide.

  5. 05

    Same rates at 2 a.m.

There are no emergency or after-hours fees. A no-heat call at midnight in January is billed at the same rates as an ordinary weekday visit.

A Rosalia HVAC Company That Explains Its Work

HVAC Rosalia handles heating and cooling for homes across the area. Winters here bring long stretches below freezing and summers bring dry heat, so a furnace, heat pump or air conditioner gets real use in both seasons. We want you to understand your own system well enough to make good decisions about it.

That means naming the part, explaining why it failed and telling you what it costs to fix before we fix it. If a heat pump is on your list, we can assist you with Avista rebates and federal tax credits on heat pumps, pointing out which equipment specs qualify and what paperwork each program wants to see.

How a Service Call Runs

From the first phone call to the final test, here is what you can expect.

  1. 1

    You call, we listen

Tell us what the system is doing: noises, smells, error codes on the thermostat, when it started. That helps us bring the right parts on the first trip.

  2. 2

    Diagnosis at your home

Our technician checks the equipment with meters and gauges, measuring voltage, amperage, gas pressure, refrigerant pressures and temperature split. We show you what we found, with photos when the problem is inside the cabinet.

  3. 3

A written quote and your choice

You get the cause, the fix and the price in writing, plus any alternative worth considering. Nothing proceeds until you approve it.

  4. 4

    Repair, test and clean up

We make the repair, run the system through full heating or cooling cycles to confirm it holds, and clean the work area. You get an explanation of what was done and anything to keep an eye on.

What Moves the Price of HVAC Work

Two jobs that look alike can cost very different amounts. These are the factors that actually change the number on your quote, so you can see where your money goes.

Every job gets a written quote with each part and labor item listed before work starts. On installations and replacements, the estimate is free.

Which part failed
A run capacitor, contactor or flame sensor is an inexpensive part and a short job. A blower motor, inducer motor, control board or compressor costs far more in both parts and labor.
Age and refrigerant type
Older air conditioners built for R-22 refrigerant are expensive to recharge because that refrigerant is no longer produced. On those units a leak often tips the answer toward replacement.
Equipment size and efficiency
For installations, the capacity in tons or BTUs and the efficiency rating (SEER2 for cooling, AFUE for furnaces, HSPF2 for heat pumps) drive most of the equipment cost. We size from a load calculation so you are not paying for capacity you do not need.
Access to the equipment
A furnace in an open basement is quicker to work on than one in a tight crawlspace or attic. Condenser pads, line set length and electrical runs affect installation labor too.
Permits and electrical work
New equipment installations usually need a mechanical permit, and some need a new circuit or disconnect. We include those items as separate lines so nothing appears later.

Questions We Hear Most

Is it worth repairing my furnace or AC, or should I replace it?
It depends on the part that failed, the age of the unit and its condition. A bad capacitor or igniter on a ten-year-old system is almost always worth fixing. A cracked heat exchanger or failed compressor on a unit past fifteen years usually is not. We give you both numbers and a straight recommendation, and the choice stays yours.
Do you charge extra for nights, weekends or emergencies?
No. There are no emergency or after-hours fees. Emergency HVAC repair is available 24/7, and the rates are the same as a regular daytime visit.
What does the diagnostic fee cover?
It pays for the technician's time testing your system to pin down the real cause. Approve the fix, and that diagnostic charge is applied as a credit against your repair bill. Estimates on installations and replacements are free.
Will I know the price before you start?
Yes. You get a written quote before any work begins, with parts and labor listed. If something unexpected turns up partway through, we stop and talk with you before doing anything more.
Do your repairs come with a warranty?
Yes. Every repair we make is backed by a 1-year labor warranty. Should our workmanship give you trouble during those twelve months, phone us and we will return to correct it under that warranty.
Is a heat pump a good choice for winters here?
Modern cold-climate heat pumps keep heating well into the single digits and below, and many homes pair one with a gas or electric backup for the coldest nights. We look at your home's heat loss and your current fuel before recommending one. We can also walk you through Avista rebates and federal tax credits on heat pumps, which can bring the net cost down.
How often should my system be serviced?
Once a year for each system is the standard: the furnace before heating season and the air conditioner or heat pump before summer. A tune-up cleans the burners and coils, checks the flame sensor and capacitors, and catches worn parts before they fail. Our maintenance plans include tune-ups, repair discounts and priority scheduling.
